Types of Interpreting
There are many types of interpreting. These are the three most common.
Simultaneous
Best for: Conferences, AGMs, webinars
“Listening and talking at the same time? That’s impossible!” Actually, no. And I enjoy every second of it.
Pro: You communicate in real time.
Con: You need tech.
Consecutive
Best for: Business dinners, negotiations, small groups
“It’s impossible to write everything down!” It is. With my secret interpreters’ shorthand.
Pro: All we need is pen and paper.
Con: Delayed rendition of your speech and your event will run twice as long.
Market Research
Best for: Focus groups, IDIs, car clinics, UX testing
“Consumer Insights, Car Clinics, UX/UI, IDIs, Inhomes, RTB, POS.” Alphabet soup to you? Breakfast to me.
15 years in market research means I already know what you do.

About
Hello,
I am Simon
Conference interpreter with 15 years of professional experience.
Passionate language nerd, sports enthusiast and fresh-air fanatic. I dedicate myself full-time to the world of communication. I studied the craft of interpreting in Germany and the UK. My free time is best spent in ice-cold water, with my family, and with my four-legged friend.
Over 15 years and countless conferences under my belt, as the British say. I interpret between German and English myself, and I work hand in hand with talented colleagues to cover many more language combinations. On my résumé: international SMEs, large corporations, NGOs, foundations and governments.
